Find It logo McGill is a navigation and discovery tool that will speed up your research process and increase its effectiveness. Find It logo McGill (commonly referred to as SFX) allows you to connect seamlessly from a research database directly to McGill Libraries' resources such as online full-text articles, or to title listings for non electronic / print journals, books or other library materials in the Catalogue.

The Find It logo McGill service is already in place for many of database available at McGill Library. These databases are identified by the unique Find It at McGill Libraries symbol in the Article index and database service.

Using Find It logo McGill is as simple as 1 - 2 - 3.

1. Perform a search in a Find It logo McGill enabled database. When viewing search results, note the Find It at McGill Libraries icon next to the brief citation or in the document record.

2. Click on this icon; a new window will open and the Find It logo McGill menu will be created, based on that citation. The links that Find It logo McGill provides are dynamic and context sensitive; that is, you will see different options for different citations.

The Find It logo McGill menu may include:

  • Links directly to the full text for the article
  • Links to the abstract for the article
  • Links to the table of contents for a journal issue
  • Links into the Library catalogue

Additional services and options will be offered through the Find It logo McGill menu at a later date.

3. Click on a full text link in the Find It logo McGill menu; a 3rd window will open with the full text of your article, and so on.
