• Please use Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox to access the Demographic Estimates Compendium and the data tables. The *.xls files will open directly in the browser.
• Reports are PDF files and must be viewed with Adobe Acrobat Reader. 
  Users need to download and install the Acrobat Reader on their workstation, available here.
• All Tables are XLS files and can be viewed with Microsoft Excel spreadsheet file viewer or similar WWW browser plug-in.

** Note: Starting 2006, Annual Demographic Statistics has been reorganized into 3 publications and renamed Demographic Estimates Compendium **   It contains:

• Annual estimates of the population of Canada, the provinces and territories based on age, sex and marital status;
• quarterly estimates of the population of Canada, the provinces and territories based on age and sex;
• infraprovincial population estimates based on age and sex;
• estimates of demographic components: births, deaths, immigration, emigration, returning emigration, net temporary emigration, net non-permanent residents and interprovincial migration based on province or territory of origin and destination;
• estimates of census families.

Note 1: The list of all the tables is given in a  pdf file from where you will have to follow links to excel files for the tables. Also the data files are cumulative in the sense that they contain all the  data up to and including the most recent year.

Note 2: Please open up the pdf file in the browser. Saving a copy to disk or opening externally in Adobe prevents the in-documents links from working.
